The Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario (FDRIO) is a not-for-profit organization that provides certifications, networking and advocacy for Ontario family arbitrators, parenting coordinators, financial professionals, and other FDR practitioners.

To educate, advocate for, and elevate the field of Family Dispute Resolution and the professionals working within it.
Educate:
FDRIO is committed to educating the public about alternative, out-of-court options in family dispute resolution. Additionally, FDRIO is committed to continuous learning including training, certification and professional development of those working in the FDR field
Advocate:
FDRIO strives to maintain awareness of the ever-evolving field of Family Dispute Resolution and advocates for continuous improvement of policy, process and practice within the field including the continued protection of those we serve
Elevate:
FDRIO aims to elevate the work of its volunteer board, members, and collaborative partners to increase awareness, access and understanding of alternative family dispute resolution.

Our Conference
FDRIO’s Annual Conference, The FDR Toolbox, brings together professionals from across the FDR spectrum, including mediators, arbitrators, parenting coordinators, lawyers, mental health experts, and financial specialists, to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and explore emerging issues in the field. The annual conference fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, promotes continuing education, and highlights innovative approaches to resolving conflicts encountered by ADR professionals. By facilitating dialogue and professional development, the conference directly supports FDRIO’s mission to advance high standards of practice and to ensure accessible, effective dispute resolution services for families in Ontario.
